Today I am supposed to be job hunting and applying but unfortunately I’ve digressed into home decor. I’m moving at the end of the month so I’m looking out for some pieces that I need for the new place. I saw this posting on my facebook newsfeed
http://blog.westelm.com/2012/03/09/caits-braided-storage-basket/
. I read the article but didn’t care too much about the braided basket. What really caught my eye was the console table.
I saw some of these on etsy.com with the hairpin legs but they were quite expensive. I wanted to learn more so I linked to her blog (Herando House) and saw that she made that table on her own – see below. How inspiring!

The mechanics of it all seems seems quite simple actually. There are only 2 things to pick up:
1. Hairpin legs

2. A piece of wood. I’d like to search for reclaimed wood, like from an old barn door or something to give it a bit more character and dynamic. This needs a bit more research on where to find it locally.
Here’s another inspiring DIY project using live edge lumber from

blog.

I really hope my boyfriend agrees with this piece of furniture, if he does, I’ll make sure to create a detailed post on this project.
Cheers!
Cindy
Thanks so much for showing my entryway table some love!
